Anesthesia
In the practice of medicine, especially surgery, and dentistry, anesthesia or anaesthesia is an induced, temporary state with one or more of the following characteristics: analgesia (relief from or prevention of pain), paralysis (extreme muscle relaxation), amnesia (loss of memory), and unconsciousness. An anesthetic is an agent that causes anaesthesia. A patient under the effects of anesthesia is anesthetized. An anesthesiologist(USA) or anaesthetist(UK) is a physician who performs anesthesia.

Anesthesist is a medical practitioner who is trained in the administration of anaesthesia to the patient during surgery. To maintain the human body and keep it free from diseases docters use knowledge to diagnosis the problem and cure them with medication and if need be then with the help of the surgery.
ELIGIBILITY
To pursue anesthesiology, one needs a strong background in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Like any other physician, Anesthesiologists too require a long period of medical training. After 10+2 one has to apply to medical colleges to pursue MBBS degree, admission to which is based on scores of entrance test and marks of plus two.

Salary:
With starting salary anywhere between Rs.15,000 to Rs25,000 depending upon the competence of the individual anaesthetist.In private sector there is loads of money.
