Eligibility Criteria For Nursing Courses
Nursing courses in India are regulated by Indian Nursing Council (INC). The Indian Nursing Council is an Autonomous Body under the Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare was constituted by the Central Government under section 3(1) of the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947 of parliament in order to establish a uniform standard of training for nurses, Midwives and health visitors.
Below are the details of eligibility criteria and course duration of various programmed under nursing streams. Students can enter in Nursing stream right after class 10th or class 12th based upon their interest.

Eligibility For Nursing Courses
ANM : Auxiliary Nurse & Midwife
The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years.
The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
Pass in 10+2 in Arts (with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Science or Health care Science - Vocational stream from a recognized board.
Students qualified in 10+2 in Arts or Science examination conducted by National Institute of Open School are also eligible.

GNM : General Nursing & Midwifery
Pass in 10+2 with English and must have minimum of 40% marks individually from any recognized board. Candidates from State Open School and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) are also eligible.
10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing council.
10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/Centre.
Registered ANM with pass mark.

B.Sc Nursing
The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years.
10+2 class passed with Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective with aggregate of 45% marks from recognized board.
Students from National Institute of Open School from 10+2 examination in Science stream minimum 45% marks are also eligible.
Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
Passed in 0+2 recognized by the university. Those who have done 10+1 in or before 1986, will be eligible for admission.
Must have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery and registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council.
M.Sc NUrsing
The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
The Minimum education requirements shall be the passing of: B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
Minimum one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing.
Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
