D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D Course Duration and Eligibility Criteria

The Pharmacy Council of India is a statutory body constituted under the Pharmacy Act 1948, a Central Act passed by the Parliament to regulate the profession and practice of pharmacy in the country.

D.Pharm

Course : Diploma in Pharmacy

Level : Diploma

Duration : 2 Years (4 Semesters)

Age Limit : Minimum 17 Years

Eligibility : 10+2 with Science stream, Mandatory subjects physics, chemistry and biology or mathematics with minimum 40%

B.Pharm

Course : Bachelor of pharmacy

Level : Graduate

Duration : 4 Years (8 Semesters)

Age Limit : Minimum 17 Years

Eligibility : 10+2 with Science stream, Mandatory subjects physics, chemistry and biology or mathematics with minimum 40%

M.Pharm

Course : Bachelor of pharmacy

Level : Post Graduate

Duration : 2 Years (4 Semesters)

Age Limit : Minimum 17 Years

Eligibility : B.Pharm degree of recognised Indian University

Pharm.D 

Course : Doctor of pharmacy 

Level : Doctorate

Duration : 6 Years (12 Semesters)

Age Limit : Minimum 17 Years, Maximum 23 Years

Eligibility : 10+2 with Science stream, Mandatory subjects physics, chemistry and biology or mathematics with minimum 50%

Pharm.D (PB)

Course : Doctor of pharmacy (Post Baccalaureate)

Level : Doctorate

Duration : 4 Years (8 Semesters)

Eligibility : Graduates who have completed B Pharm from a PCI recognized institute are eligible to pursue this course. Minimum aggregate marks required is 50%. Some institutes do have minimum marks criteria.
