MDS in Oral Medicine and Radiology
Oral medicine is a branch of medicine which is concerned with the oral structures, its health as well as the diseases related to it. It is a specialty of dentistry that relates to the medical treatment and management of diseases of or facial tissues. Radiology refers to the application of x-rays for taking the images of teeth and its adjacent regions and parts.
Eligibility Outline:
The admission to MDS courses are generally based on an entrance test. The student should have completed his BDS i.e, Bachelor of Dental Surgery.
Job Prospects:

Graduates can start their career as practitioners in community hospitals, government hospitals, nursing homes and in industries. Course Outlook:
MDS i.e. Master of Dental Surgery in Oral Medicine and Radiology is a post graduation course. The course is of three year full time duration. The subjects taught include nutrition, dietetics, pharmacology, radiology techniques, diagnostic methods, biostatistics, clinical pedodontics, Child Physiology etc.

A dental surgeon can earn good amount of money by their own practice. A consultant charges from Rs 250 onwards for cosmetic filling or routine check-up. This may increase up to Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 depending upon the nature of the dental problem. A well experienced dentist can earn around Rs 30,000 to Rs 1, 00,000 or more per month.
